COMMUNITY GRANTS

CECO has distributed $7M to local non-profit agencies since inception, providing funds to improve services and/or develop new programs to benefit the diverse communities of San Diego County.

Annually (typically in the month of October), CECO invites local non-profits to submit an application to fund tangible goods, such as equipment, furnishings, and other durable goods that directly benefit the population being served by the program.
CECO GRANTS WEBINARS:
  • On October 8, 2020, CECO provided a workshop for non-profit organizations to learn the basics of finding and applying for a grant, as well as an overview of the CECO grant application.
  • On Friday, October 8, 2021 CECO hosted a free virtual "2022 CECO Grants Informational Webinar" for community members to learn about CECO’s grant application.

EMPLOYEE CRISIS FUND

Part of the money raised by CECO is allocated to a special fund for County of San Diego employees and retirees to turn to when they need help. The Crisis Fund is available to assist eligible employees and retirees experiencing a “one-time financial crisis.” The decision to grant funds is based on the following: the applicant’s eligibility, the applicant’s need, and the circumstances underlying the lack of resources.
APPLICATION PROCESS
  1. Download the Employee Crisis Fund Application. (If you receive a "Please Wait" prompt, select the download arrow at the top right of the page - similar to the graphic above. This will allow you to save and open the file from your computer/device.)
  2. Fill out the application online by typing the information onto the form.
  3. Print the completed application and then submit it to the Crisis Fund Coordinator indicated on the application along with the supporting documents. If you have questions about the application, contact DHR Benefits at Dhrbenefits.fgg@sdcounty.ca.gov.
  4. The decision to grant funds generally takes 7-10 business days after receiving a completed application package. Decisions are final. Payment for approved funds will be forwarded directly to the company or individual to which money is owed or to the company from which necessary items will be purchased. If you have questions about the application, contact DHR Benefits at Dhrbenefits.fgg@sdcounty.ca.gov.
